Detectives have arrested a man suspected of murdering 13-year-old Lindsay Rimer in Hebden Bridge back in 1994.
Arrest Made in Prison
The suspect was apprehended this morning by West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team at a UK prison, where he is currently serving time for unrelated offences. He is being questioned today and tomorrow before likely being bailed and returned to jail as enquiries continue.
Investigators Seek Key Witnesses
Police are also reaching out to several potential witnesses in the HebdenBridge and wider Halifax areas to help with their investigation.
“We remain very firmly committed to doing everything we can to get justice for Lindsay, and to give her family the answers they still so desperately need after all these years,” said Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle.
“The arrest we have made today comes as a result of our continued focus on progressing the investigation.
“We do not anticipate any immediate developments at this stage but urge anyone with information to come forward.”
