Oladip Oshodi, a 48-year-old resident of Dagenham, has been sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for a series of heinous crimes, including rape, administering a noxious substance, threats to kill, grievous bodily harm, and controlling coercive behaviour. The sentencing took place at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, July 5, 2024.
[block_2]Oshodi’s arrest occurred on July 12, 2023, following an investigation by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s East Area Public Protection Unit. Throughout the legal proceedings, he remained in custody.
PC Kayleigh Grafton, a specialist officer dealing with victims of sexual offences, urged other survivors to come forward: “The survivor in this case was fleeing for her life when she jumped onto the street to escape this man. I hope that the sentence handed down encourages other women who have been victims of sexual offences to seek help. We are here to support you every step of the way.”
