A man has been taken to hospital with burn injuries following a house blaze in Crayford.

The fire, which severely damaged half of the first floor of the two-storey terraced house, prompted a response from four fire engines and approximately 25 firefighters. The London Fire Brigade received the emergency call at 9:32 PM, and crews managed to bring the blaze under control by 10:58 PM on Maiden Lane, Crayford, on the evening of July 16

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade commented on the incident: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a house fire on Maiden Lane in Crayford. Half of the first floor of the two-storey terraced house was damaged by fire. One man suffering burns to his hand and smoke inhalation left the building before the arrival of the Brigade and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. The Brigade was called at 2132 and the fire was under control by 2258. Crews from Bexley and Erith fire stations and from Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
