A man has sadly died following a fire at a house on Beecholme Avenue in Mitcham

The semi-detached house was destroyed by the fire. The body of a man was sadly found in the property.

The Brigade was called at 0249 and the fire was under control by 0428. Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Mitcham, Tooting, Wimbledon and Norbury fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
