A suspect has appeared in court in connection with break-ins across Kent, including one at a fire station

On Friday 19 January a man attempted to break into a property in Joy Lane, Whitstable.

A break-in at Sheerness Fire Station in the High Street was reported on Sunday 21 January.

During the incident property including a bank card and other personal belongings were stolen while the fire crew was responding to an incident. This bank card was then used in a nearby shop.

On Monday 22 January a house in Augustine Road, Minster on Sea, was also broken into. On the same day officers arrested a man in connection with the incidents.

Darren Rogers, 45, was later charged by investigators from East Kent CID with two counts of burglary and one attempted burglary. He was also charged with receiving stolen goods and fraud by false representation.

Mr Rogers, of Cavell Way, Sittingbourne, appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 24 January. He was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday 21 February.
