Two arrested after Hit and Run Fatal on the A20 Near Ashford

 

Kent Police is appealing for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage following a fatal collision on the A20 near Ashford late on New Year’s Day.

Emergency services were called to Hythe Road at Mersham le Hatch, near the junction with The Street, Mersham, at 11:18 pm on Wednesday, 1 January 2025.

A pedestrian, a man in his 40s, sustained serious injuries and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

Arrests Made

Shortly after midnight, officers recovered a damaged silver Honda Jazz in the Osborne Road area of Willesborough. Two men were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remain in custody as investigations continue.

Appeal for Information

Investigators are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time or has relevant information to come forward. This includes:

  • Local residents with private CCTV footage
  • Drivers with dashcam recordings
