At the Stroke of 12 a minutes silence was held as a mark of respect to firefighters

A 12 noon today (Friday May 4th), Fire stations across the UK fall silent for one minute to commemorate bravery and sacrifice of the 2,524 firefighters who have died on duty. Firefighters across the uk have paid tribute to colleagues who have given their lives in the line of duty. Every fire station and control room fell silent at noon today to commemorate Firefighters Memorial Day. Here a gallery of some of services up and down the country who took part
