Body Found on Railway Tracks Halts Train Services Between Dover and Folkestone

Train services between Dover Priory and Folkestone Central have been suspended this morning following the discovery of a body on the railway tracks near Dover. Southeastern Railway and Network Rail confirmed that police are currently investigating the incident, which has caused significant disruption to passengers travelling along the route.

In a statement, Network Rail Kent & Sussex apologized for the inconvenience, saying, “We’re sorry to any Southeastern passengers disrupted this morning due to a police incident.” They added that buses are currently replacing train services between Dover Priory and Folkestone Central while the investigation is underway.

Southeastern also issued an update on social media, stating that no trains would run between the two stations while police conduct their inquiries. “Enquiries to establish what happened are ongoing,” the railway operator said.

Commuters are advised to check with Southeastern for the latest travel information as delays are expected to continue until further notice. Emergency services remain at the scene, and more updates are anticipated as the investigation progresses.

Passengers planning this route are urged to allow extra time for their journeys and consider alternative transportation options where available.
