Shopping Centre Evacuated as Police Investigate Potential Threat

A major security alert is underway in Hull city centre this evening after police discovered a suspicious package at St Stephen’s Shopping Centre.

Emergency Response

Humberside Police were called to Ferensway at approximately 6:20 PM GMT on Tuesday following reports of a potentially dangerous item found inside the shopping centre.

A 200-metre cordon has been set up around the area, which includes Hull Paragon Interchange, while a specialist Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD) has been deployed to examine the package.

Public Safety Measures

As a precaution, officers have evacuated the shopping centre and advised the public to stay away from the area until further notice.
No injuries have been reported at this time, and police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
