Cctv Image Released In Connection With Train Robbery Investigation

Authorities from the British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have vital information pertaining to a train robbery incident. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 26 between Tilbury Town and Pitsea Stations.

At approximately 23.40 BST. a man in his twenties was aboard the train when four individuals boarded at Tilbury Town. One of the four men approached the victim and a woman who was accompanying him, threatening them with a metal walking stick and demanding their phones.

Fearing for their safety, the victim handed over his phone before disembarking the train at Stanford-le-Hope Railway Station. The BTP have since arrested and released on bail three 17-year-old boys in connection with the robbery.

In an effort to gather more information and advance their investigation, BTP officers are now seeking the public’s help in identifying a man captured in a CCTV image. They believe he may possess crucial information that could aid in resolving the case.

Individuals who recognise the man in the image are urged to contact the BTP through text message at 61016. Alternatively, they can call 0800 40 50 40 and quote reference number 636 from August 26.

For those who wish to provide information anonymously, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be reached at 0800 555 111.
