Authorities are appealing for witnesses following a tragic collision on the A4 yesterday evening, resulting in the death of a cyclist.

The incident occurred around 7:55 pm on the 21st of April 2024 between Avebury and Calne when a cyclist collided with a Peugeot Boxer Van. Despite prompt response from emergency services, the cyclist, identified as a man in his 30s, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Family members of the deceased have been notified and are receiving support from dedicated officers during this difficult period. Our deepest condolences go out to them as they navigate through this heartbreaking loss.

The driver of the Peugeot Boxer Van, a man in his 60s, was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. However, he has since been released under investigation as inquiries into the incident continue.
