Double Decker Bus Crashes at Paddington Station, Causing Traffic Chaos

This morning, a double-decker bus crashed at Paddington station, leading to traffic chaos for commuters trying to access the station. Images depict the aftermath of the crash, showing the top layer of the bus crumpled underneath a low entryway believed to be the entrance to the Paddington taxi rank area.

The incident, which occurred shortly before 9 am, unfolded as the bus attempted a right turn and collided with a height-restricted entryway. Signage at the entrance clearly indicates a maximum height of 3.6 meters, whereas London buses typically range in height from 4.5 to 4.7 meters.

At present, the entrance to the taxi rank is reduced to a single lane of moving traffic, exacerbating congestion in the area.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the collision resulted in damage only, with no reported injuries. However, inquiries are ongoing with Transport for London (TfL) and the local authority regarding any structural damage to the bridge.

Police were promptly dispatched to the scene to manage the aftermath of the crash, as efforts to clear the area and restore traffic flow continued.
