Emergency services are currently at the scene of a freight train derailment in Carlisle

No passengers were on the train and there are not believed to be any injuries.

It happened in the area of the Petteril Bridge junction, off London Road, before 9.30pm tonight ( October 19 ).

People are asked to stay away from this area while emergency workers deal with the incident.
