Emergency Services are currently responding to reports of an ordnance device located near Battersea Bridge. The Metropolitan Police confirmed their presence at the scene following an alert received at approximately 11:52 AM today.
The exact nature of the device has not been confirmed, and police are urging the public to avoid the area to allow emergency services to manage the situation effectively.
Traffic and pedestrian access around Battersea Bridge has been restricted, and local diversions are in place. The nearby areas are experiencing significant congestion as the investigation continues.
Residents and businesses in the vicinity have been advised to remain indoors and follow updates from official channels. The London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade are also on standby to provide support if needed. The RNLI and a Police launch are also in the area with an NAPAS helicopter streaming pictures back to the Met Police controlroom.
