A fire broke out following a collision involving three vehicles under a railway bridge in Bilston, causing significant disruption to train services and sending four people, including two young children, to the hospital. The crash occurred after one of the vehicles, which had been pursued by West Midlands Police for failing to stop, was involved in the incident.
The accident has impacted train routes between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton, with further delays reported on services to Shrewsbury and Stoke-on-Trent. Emergency services, including Bilston Fire Station, responded to the scene, where two cars were found fully engulfed in flames.

West Midlands Police confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. Thankfully, none of the injuries sustained by the victims, including a woman and two children, are believed to be life-threatening.

Bilston Fire Station shared a reminder to the public via social media, urging caution on the roads: “Bilston White Watch attended an RTC involving 2 cars and a van this afternoon. Both cars had been fully engulfed in fire. A reminder to the public to be mindful of their driving and the road conditions.”
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to work to restore normal traffic and train services in the area.
