Thames Valley Police has issued an urgent public appeal after a disturbing voyeurism incident at Castle Quay shopping centre earlier this summer.

Between 5:00pm and 5:45pm on Monday, 2 June 2025, a male offender is alleged to have used an electronic recording device to film a man in his mid-thirties under a cubicle door inside the men’s toilets at the popular Banbury retail hub.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may have vital information regarding the offence.

PC Filip Kopec, the investigating officer, said:
“I am releasing this image of a man who may have vital information about this offence of voyeurism. If you are the man in the image, or know who he is, then please contact Thames Valley Police as soon as possible.”

Police are urging the public to respond to the appeal by quoting investigation reference number 43250271724. Information can be shared by:

  • Visiting a local police station
  • Calling 101
  • Submitting a report via the Thames Valley Police website

Those who prefer to remain anonymous can contact Crimestoppers at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or call 0800 555 111.

Castle Quay is a busy shopping centre that sees high footfall, particularly during after-work hours, when this incident occurred. Police have not confirmed whether any other individuals may have been targeted.
