Brutal Attacker Marvyn Thomas Locked Up for 13 Years

Marvyn Thomas, 38, from Belmont Street, Old Trafford, has been sentenced to 13-and-a-half years behind bars at Manchester Crown Court. The verdict followed a harrowing two-week trial that laid bare his violent spree against his victim.

Gruesome Abuse Unveiled in Court

Thomas was found guilty of multiple chilling offences: three counts of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH), two counts of non-fatal strangulation, two counts of criminal damage, sexual assault, and rape. The court heard harrowing evidence describing his controlling and abusive behaviour, which spanned from summer 2023 right through to March 2024.

One night, after a fiery argument, Thomas tracked his victim into their bedroom. He throttled them against the wall, squeezing their throat twice and threatening to kill them before forcing a sexual assault. The victim struggled desperately for breath during the terrifying ordeal.

Mother’s Day Horror and Relentless Stalking

In October 2023, Thomas’s brutality landed the victim in hospital with serious injuries. The violence reached a new low on Mother’s Day 2024, when Thomas punched the victim, knocking them unconscious and leaving deep facial bruising.

Even after a cooling-off period, Thomas continued his reign of terror, stalking the victim’s neighbourhood. In one terrifying incident, the victim and their family were forced to barricade themselves inside a business. Staff bravely stopped Thomas from trying to break in.
