Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has revealed she has given birth to identical twin daughters after going into labour nearly two months before her expected due date.
The 32-year-old singer and her partner, rapper Zion Foster, welcomed their babies on Thursday, 15 May, after a whirlwind labour at just 31 weeks and five days gestation.
Early Arrival but Healthy and “Fighting Strong”
Nelson took to Instagram on Sunday (18 May) to share the emotional news, posting a black-and-white photo of the couple’s hands cradling their newborns’ tiny fingers. She captioned the post:
“So… Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31 weeks plus 5 days. It all happened so quickly, but we are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love.”
Meet Ocean Jade and Story Monroe
The premature twin girls have been named Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster, with Nelson confirming both babies are doing well despite the early birth.
Jesy had previously opened up about her pregnancy journey, revealing in March that her twins were diagnosed as monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) – meaning they shared one placenta but had separate amniotic sacs. This condition carries a heightened risk of Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), a rare complication that can pose serious health risks to both babies.
The former girl group member confirmed she underwent a successful operation earlier this year to prevent TTTS, a procedure that may have contributed to the twins’ healthy arrival.
A Rollercoaster Romance
Jesy began dating Zion Foster in 2022. The couple reportedly split in mid-2023 after nine months together, but they later reconciled and made their rekindled romance public in November 2024.
She announced her pregnancy in January 2025 with a photo captioned “eating for 3 now,” prompting congratulations from fans and fellow celebrities.
From Little Mix to Motherhood
Nelson left Little Mix in December 2020, citing mental health concerns and the pressure of life in the spotlight. She has since launched a solo music career, releasing her debut single Boyz with Nicki Minaj in 2021.
Fans and former Little Mix bandmates have already begun congratulating the new parents on social media, with warm messages flooding Nelson’s Instagram post.
