Long Delays on A3 Following Multi Vehicle Collision involving Heavy Good Vehicle near Buriton

Drivers using the A3 Northbound near Buriton are facing long delays following a multi vehicle Collision. One lane of the A3 northbound remains closed whilst accident investigation work and a clear up/ recovery operation takes place. Police were called to the scene just before 1pm. The incident is believed to have involved a lorry and at least other five cars. One Driver has been taken away to hospital via South Central ambulance. Their injuries are not thought to be serious. It is understood that a vehicle has broken down and the owner stopped to change the tyre when a lorry carry out a go around manoeuvre when other vehicle crashed into the lorry.

Highways England are also at the scene after road furniture had been damaged as a result of the collision. Ambulance and fire crews also attended the scene, and it is understood that some people suffered minor injuries. A Dark coloured BMW suffered serve damage as did a White Peugeot, A Silver BMW and two other vehicle suffered minor damage. The heavy good vehicle belonging to NV Transport in Chichester received damage to the rear of its trailer. More to Follow
