M20 Closed following Serious Incident

The M20 coastbound in Kent is closed between junctions J4 (West Malling) and J5 (Maidstone West) due to a serious incident with a response being led by Kent Police. The incident is involving a multi-vehicle collision. A diversion route is in place from J4 following the ‘hollow black circle symbol’, joining the A228 north to the M2 J2. Joining M2 coastbound and continuing to J5. Traffic then joins the A249 southbound at Stockbury which takes traffic back to the M20 to join at J7. Road users intending to join the motorway at J5 to travel coastbound should be aware that there is previously established roadworks closure from J6 – J7. UPDATE: Firefighters have removed the roofs of two cars involved in a multi-vehicle crash J4 to J5 which occurred around 10:50pm. One person believed to have suffered head injuries. Another casualty reportedly has leg injuries.
