M271 closed after overturned HGV

The M271 northbound near Southampton, Hampshire is closed between the Redbridge Roundabout (A35) and J1 (Lordshill Industrial Estate, A3057) due to an overturned HGV on the central reservation and a large diesel spillage. Hampshire Police and Highways England are on scene and recovery/clean-up contractors are en-route. The road needs to be closed in order to right the HGV safely. A diversion is available for road users. From the Redbridge Roundabout follow the route marked with a black diamond symbol on local road signs. This will take traffic on the A35/A33 eastbound to the Millbrook Roundabout. Exit the roundabout on to Terbourba Way (A35). At the junction with the A3057 Romsey Road turn left and head north to the roundabout with Brownhill Way. Take the first exit on to Brownhill Way and continue to J1 of the M271.
