The M4 motorway in Wiltshire has been closed in both directions due to a serious collision involving a car and a lorry. The incident affects the westbound lanes between Junction 14 (Hungerford) and Junction 15 (Swindon), as well as the eastbound lanes between Junction 15 and Junction 13 (Newbury).
All emergency services, including Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, are currently attending the scene. National Highways Traffic Officers are also present to assist with traffic management.
Diversion Details:
- Westbound Traffic:
- Follow the hollow square diversion symbol.
- Leave the M4 at J14 and take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A338.
- Follow the A338 for approximately 3 miles to the A4 mini roundabout and turn right onto the A4 towards Hungerford.
- At the next roundabout, take the second exit into Charnham Park and turn right onto the B4192.
- Follow the B4192 for around 13 miles through Aldbourne to the A419 roundabout.
- Take the first exit onto the A419 and continue to rejoin the M4 at J15.
- Eastbound Traffic:
- Follow the hollow square diversion symbol.
- Leave the M4 at J15 and take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A419.
- Continue to the next roundabout and take the fourth exit to join the B4192.
- Follow the B4192 for around 13 miles via Aldbourne.
- At the junction of the B4192 with Charnham Park, turn left and continue to the A4 roundabout.
- From there, follow the hollow circle diversion symbol towards the A34 interchange.
- At the A34 roundabout, use the second exit to follow the A34 to the M4 J13 interchange, where you can rejoin the M4 eastbound.
