A serious crash involving an overturned lorry has closed a major stretch of the M6 northbound between junctions 14 (Stafford) and 15 (Stoke-on-Trent), causing heavy traffic delays this morning.
Two of the four lanes remain closed on the southbound carriageway as well.
A National Highways spokesperson said:
“The M6 remains closed northbound between J14 and J15 due to a collision involving an overturned lorry and spillage. Recovery is now ongoing, but drivers should expect delays and allow extra time for journeys.”
Staffordshire Police added:
“Luckily no injuries were reported. The road is likely to be closed for several hours for resurfacing and repairs.”
The incident comes just days after another serious crash on the M6 near junction 11 involving a wrong-way driver who later failed a drink-drive test.
