A major fire has broken out at a hotel on Chiltern Street in Marylebone, with twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters tackling the blaze, which has spread from the ground floor to the roof.

Fire Spreads Through Ducting and Plant Room

The fire, which started in the ducting system, has extended from the ground floor to the roof of the four-storey hotel, which also houses a restaurant on the ground floor. A plant room at roof level is also on fire.

Cause of Fire Unknown

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations will begin once the scene is secured.

Public Advised to Avoid the Area

Authorities are urging the public to avoid Chiltern Street, as road closures and emergency operations are ongoing. Traffic in the Marylebone area is expected to be severely disrupted.
