Major Fire Breaks Out on Denmark Road, Kilburn

 

A significant fire broke out this evening at a property on Denmark Road in Kilburn, prompting a major response from emergency services. It is understood to the Eight fire engines and approximately 60 firefighters are currently tackling the blaze at the Oxford Kilburn Youth Trust building.

The fire was reported at around 5:30 PM on Christmas Day, and reports suggest that there may be individuals inside the building. Fire crews are conducting a search and rescue operation as part of their efforts to contain the fire and ensure the safety of anyone inside.

London Fire Brigade has advised residents and passersby to avoid the area while firefighters work to bring the situation under control.

A spokesperson for the brigade stated: “Our teams are responding to a fire on Denmark Road, Kilburn. Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters are at the scene. We are working to ensure everyone’s safety and ask the public to keep clear of the area.”

Further update from London Fire Brigade: Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters responded to a fire on Denmark Road, Kilburn.  The fire was located in the ground floor of a youth hostel, which consists of two floors. There are no reports of any injuries. The Brigade was first called about the fire at 5.21pm, with Control Officers mobilising crews from North Kensington, West Hampstead, Paddington and surrounding fire stations to the scene. Firefighters had the fire under control by 6.45pm.
