A man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, and drink driving following a tactical stop by police on the A12 in Marks Tey on Saturday morning, 9 November 2024.
Concerns were raised by members of the public around 9.45am after reports of a black Mercedes being driven erratically on the A12 near Chelmsford. Officers from the Roads Policing Unit were dispatched to the area, and the vehicle failed to stop when requested.
The Mercedes was pursued by police officers along the A12 to Colchester, where it was eventually brought to a halt through a tactical stop in Marks Tey, nearly an hour after the initial report.
A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently being held in custody.
