Man arrested at Stanstead For Terror offences
Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are investigating after a man was arrested at Stansted Airport yesterday morning (Tuesday, 19 December). The 34-year-old man, who is Swedish, was stopped by Eastern Region Counter Terrorism Police under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act after he had disembarked a flight from Stockholm shortly before 08:00hrs on 19 December. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being in possession of material containing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He was taken to an Essex police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="109815">Essex police station where he remains in custody. He is being held under PACE.
