A man has been charged with the murder of 42-year-old Gemma Devonish, who was found with fatal injuries at an address in Carshalton.
James Madden, 38, of Railton Road, SE24, was arrested in the early hours of Friday, 20 December and subsequently charged with murder on Saturday, 21 December.
Madden, who was known to the victim, is due to appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December.
Officers are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to confirm the cause of death.
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have stated they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
The investigation continues, and Gemma’s family is being supported by specially trained officers during this difficult time.
