A man in his 30s has tragically died a week after being stabbed at Seven Sisters Tube station in London. The victim, who was attacked before 9 am on Tuesday, July 23, succumbed to his injuries this morning, prompting the British Transport Police (BTP) to launch a murder investigation.
The man was rushed to hospital with critical injuries following the stabbing. Despite medical efforts, he passed away on Tuesday, July 30.
A 20-year-old man was previously charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon on July 28. With the victim’s death, these charges are expected to be updated to reflect the new circumstances.
T/Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn of the BTP expressed condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones. “Sadly today we can confirm the victim has died in hospital following the attack and we have launched a murder investigation. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones as they navigate their loss, we continue to provide support through specialist officers,” Blackburn said.
The BTP is coordinating with the Crown Prosecution Service in light of the victim’s passing to amend the charges against the accused.
