An 86-year-old man has tragically lost his life in a road traffic collision in north Northumberland. The incident occurred just after 10 am on Saturday when Northumbria Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A1, at the junction with the B6349 in Belford. The collision involved a white Hyundai i20 and a black Nissan Qashqai.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, and upon arrival, they found the male driver of the Hyundai i20 had sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the driver was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
