Man fighting for his life after being stabbed in the chest in Sleepy Kent Village of Birchington
A major investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in the chest in Station Road in the sleepy village of Birchington on Sunday afternoon. https:///youtu.be/yJEnB7rnDe0 Birchington is a village in northeast Kent, with a population of around 10,000 people living there. The annual Christmas street Christmas light switch on was taking place yards from the incident that happened just after 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon. Armed Police and Dog handlers were deployed to the incident and the road has been remained cordoned off since at both ends after what one neighbour described as being a despite over payment for works that the man has carried out. The front window of number 17 Cresent Road has been smashed and Police remain on guard at the property. The upstairs blinds have also been ragged. Scene of crime officers have spent the afternoon in the village carrying out a finger search and examination of the area that has three cordons in place. Specialists could be seen in examining a grey T-shirt with a large patch of blood on it. A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at around 2pm to reports of a disturbance in Crescent Road, Birchington. “Officers attended where a man had suffered an injury consistent with a stab wound. He was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance. “Police remain at the scene carrying out enquiries to determine the circumstances of the incident. One man has been taken into custody.” Extra patrols are out in the area but officers are not looking for anyone else connected with the incident.
