Man Jailed for Sexual Assault on Schoolgirl in Folkestone

 
At Canterbury Crown Court on Friday, 15 November, Maycock, formerly of Foord Road South, was sentenced to:

  • Two years in prison
  • A 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order
  • A 10-year restraining order

Detective Sergeant David Hinwood praised the victim’s courage and the swift action of the police:
“Protecting women and girls is an absolute priority for Kent Police, and we will relentlessly pursue anyone who poses them harm. The quick actions of police following this troubling incident saw the offender swiftly identified, arrested, and brought to justice.”

He added: “I would like to praise the victim and her family for their assistance during the investigation. I hope the court orders imposed as part of this sentence protect the public in the future.
