A man has been sentenced to two years in prison after sexually assaulting a schoolgirl in Folkestone earlier this year.
Callum Maycock, 21, approached the victim near Foord Road on the morning of Thursday, 27 June 2024, making inappropriate comments before touching her inappropriately. The schoolgirl managed to escape and reported the incident to police, prompting an immediate investigation.
Swift Police Action
Officers patrolling the area the next day spotted Maycock, who matched the description provided by the victim. He was arrested 24 hours after the offence and later admitted to the charge of sexual assault.
At Canterbury Crown Court on Friday, 15 November, Maycock, formerly of Foord Road South, was sentenced to:
- Two years in prison
- A 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order
- A 10-year restraining order
