Police have confirmed that a man who died following a crash near the Dartford Crossing was a pedestrian standing on the hard shoulder of the M25.
The incident, involving a lorry and two pedestrians, occurred between Junctions 29 and 30 shortly before 4am yesterday morning (September 8). Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, were called to the scene.
Road closures were in place following the collision to allow emergency services to attend the scene and conduct investigations, but the motorway has since reopened.
[block_2]A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to the scene of a collision between a lorry and pedestrians standing on the hard shoulder of the M25 clockwise between J29 and J30 on Sunday 8 September at 03:56hrs. Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service paramedics and treated two men.
“Despite their best efforts, one of the men—no further details—died at the scene. Road closures are in place as police carry out inquiries. No arrests have been made.”
