Man left with Severe injuries after West Norwood Attack

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a violent Grievous Bodily Harm attack on a man which left him with severe injuries in West Norwood. Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called on Friday, 30 March at approximately 21:30hrs to reports of a 39-year-old male having been attacked on Station Rise, SE27 by three males. LAS took the victim to a south-London hospital where he was diagnosed with a severe head injury. He has since been released from hospital and is recovering from his injuries. The next day – Saturday, 31 March – officers arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to the attack on Brixton Road, SW9. He was bailed to return at a date at the end of April. On Sunday, 1 April, a 44-year-old male and a 24-year-old male were also arrested in connection to the attack. They have also been bailed to return at the end of April. Detective Constable Carolina Luby, from Brixton CID, said: “Although three arrests have been made, we would still strongly urge any witnesses to come forward and report what they saw to us. His injuries suggest he was punched and kicked. Were you there and did you see anything? “This was a very violent attack in which, luckily, the victim did not suffer any permanent damage. I would encourage anyone with information to get in touch.” Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 and quote CAD 7429/30Mar. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
