Emergency Services Respond to Person Stuck in Mud Near Erith Yacht Club

A man was rescued this morning after becoming trapped in mud near Anchor Bay Wharf on Manor Road, Erith. The incident, which occurred just before 10:10am today, prompted a swift response from both the London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service.

Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters from Erith and Plumstead, in coordination with the Coastguard, conducted a rescue operation. The man was successfully extracted from the foreshore using specialized mudpath equipment. Following the rescue, he was treated on-site by paramedics for any potential injuries sustained during the ordeal.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade detailed the event: “Firefighters were called to assist the Coastguard with a person stuck in mud near Manor Road in Erith. One man was rescued from the foreshore using a mudpath and was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews. The Brigade was called at 10:09 and the incident was over for firefighters at 12:02. Crews from Erith and Plumstead fire stations attended the scene.
