A man has been handed a prison sentence for drug offences following an investigation by Thames Valley Police in Aylesbury.
Xhenet Hasaj, 27, residing on Babington Road, Barnet, London, was sentenced to two years and seven months in prison and ordered to forfeit drugs, his mobile phone, and cash at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday, May 2.
Hasaj pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, specifically cocaine, during a hearing at the same court on Tuesday, April 30.
The incident leading to the arrest occurred on March 25 around 12:30 pm when plainclothes officers were on patrol in Aylesbury. They intercepted a suspected drug deal involving an Audi A4, driven by Hasaj.
Officers trailed the car until it stopped, conducting a search that yielded £250 in cash. Hasaj was then arrested, and a subsequent search uncovered approximately 18 bags of cocaine.
PC James Gordon, the investigating officer based at Aylesbury police station, emphasized the proactive stance of law enforcement in targeting and prosecuting offenders involved in drug supply activities. He stated, “Our activity will be both visible and covert aimed at disrupting and pursuing offenders involved in the supply of drugs.
PC Gordon urged anyone with information related to drug supply in Aylesbury to contact the police via 101 or make a report online. Alternatively, individuals can provide information anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers.
