Man Stabbed in Islington Knife Brawl as Police Hunt Attacker – UKNIP

 

A man in his 20s is recovering from multiple stab wounds after being seriously injured during a knife fight involving a group of men in Islington.

The incident occurred at 3.45am on Saturday, May 17, on Watkinson Road, near Caledonian Road Tube Station, in North London. Eyewitnesses called police after seeing several individuals engaged in a violent altercation involving knives.

Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from stab wounds to his chest and back. He was treated at the scene by multiple ambulance crews and London’s Air Ambulance before being rushed to a major trauma centre. His condition is now considered non-life-threatening, according to a Met Police spokesperson.

No arrests, forensics deployed

As of Tuesday (May 20), no arrests have been made, and detectives are appealing to the public for information. A large cordon was in place for much of Saturday around Watkinson Road, Pipers Close and the nearby Tube station, with forensics officers on scene into the evening.

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“Officers were called to Watkinson Road at 3.45am following reports of a group of men fighting with knives. One man was located with multiple stab injuries. He was taken to hospital, and we are pleased to confirm his condition is no longer life-threatening. The investigation continues, and no arrests have been made.”

Ambulance statement

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added:

“We were called at 3.54am on Saturday, May 17 to reports of an incident in Watkinson Road, Islington. We sent ambulance crews, a paramedic in a response car, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance. The patient was treated and taken to a major trauma centre.”
