Met Police Officer Charged With Rape and Sexual Offences

A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with multiple serious sexual offences, including rape, Scotland Yard confirmed today.

Officer Charged

PC Santos Rodriguez, 22, a probationary officer undergoing initial recruit training with the West Area Command Unit, was charged on Tuesday, 22 July with:

  • Rape
  • Three counts of sexual assault by penetration

The charges relate to an alleged incident in March 2025 involving a single female victim.

Court Appearance

Rodriguez is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 27 August.

Arrest and Suspension

The officer was arrested on Wednesday, 12 March and immediately suspended from duty. Police confirmed the alleged offences took place while he was off duty.

Internal Investigation

The Met said its Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and is conducting an internal investigation alongside the criminal case.

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“We recognise the seriousness of these charges. PC Rodriguez has been suspended since his arrest and the matter has been referred to the Directorate of Professional Standards.”

Ongoing Proceedings

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the charges, and the case will be heard at magistrates’ court before being sent to Crown Court for trial.
