Murder Probe launched after Hit and Run in West Molesey

Surrey Police has launched a murder investigation after a woman died on Saturday (2 December) as a result of injuries she sustained in West Molesey last month. Officers were called to Dunstall Way around 4.20am on 26 November to reports of shouting and a car making off at speed. When they arrived they found a woman in the Hurst Pool car park with serious injuries, she was then taken to hospital by air ambulance. Sadly the woman, Janet Moore, 54, pictured, of Farm Road in Esher, died in hospital Saturday afternoon, her family have been informed. Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area between 11.30pm on Saturday 25 to 4.30am Sunday morning (26 November) to consider if they heard or saw anything that could help the investigation. In particular, were you driving along the A3050 at the end of Dunstall Road? Did you see a light coloured hatchback leaving the road around 4.15am? Detective Chief Inspector, Jo Hayes, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, who is leading the investigation said. “It is clear from the early stages of the investigation that this wasn’t an accident. “We are treating this incident extremely seriously and will leave no stone unturned in our investigation into Janet’s murder. “I urge anyone who knows anything, no matter how small, to call us, we will support you.” Anyone with information that might help officers is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference number 45170131601. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
