Police Investigate Broad Daylight Robbery at Chingford Retail Premises

Police have launched an investigation following a reported robbery at a retail premises in Chingford this afternoon.

Officers were called to Station Road, Chingford, at 1.09pm on Tuesday, 11 March, after receiving reports of a robbery at a local business.

Emergency services responded swiftly, and officers conducted an initial investigation at the scene, including speaking with staff and reviewing any available CCTV footage from nearby shops and public spaces.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

“Police were called at 13:09hrs on Tuesday, 11 March following reports of a robbery at a retail premises on Station Road, Chingford. Officers attended the scene and carried out all relevant enquiries. At this early stage, there have been no arrests. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

The nature of the robbery, including whether any weapons were used or what may have been stolen, has not yet been disclosed. No injuries have been reported.

Local businesses and residents expressed concern over the brazen nature of the incident occurring in broad daylight on one of Chingford’s busiest shopping streets.

One shop owner nearby told UK News in Pictures:

“It’s worrying to see this happen in the middle of the day. There’s usually lots of people about — we just hope no one was hurt.”

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward to assist the ongoing investigation.
