The Metropolitan Police Federation has condemned the violence faced by officers during protests in england/Waleswales/Centralcentral-wales/”>central London, saying police “are not the public’s punchbags” and calling for the “stiffest sanctions” against offenders. It was reported that police officers were assaulted during the central London protests, which has raised significant concerns.
In a statement, the Federation said officers—tasked with facilitating peaceful protest and enforcing the Lawlaw—were punched, kicked, spat at and had objects thrown at them during these central London protests. It added that demand on police has been “relentless” for months.
