Pursuit in Maidstone leads to drugs and knife seizure

Heroin and crack cocaine along with a knife have been seized by plain clothes officers following a pursuit in Maidstone. A man was arrested in connection with the supply of Class A drugs after police initially spotted suspicious behaviour in Station Road, at around 1.30pm on Monday 29 April 2019. The suspect ran from officers but was tackled to the floor and arrested in Royal Engineers’ Road. A search of the area led to the discovery of quantities of suspected drugs, believed to have been discarded. An address in Drawbridge Close, Maidstone was then also searched resulting in the seizure of items including SIM cards and a knife. A 35-year-old man from Maidstone remains under investigation and has been bailed to return to a police station in May. Kent Police works in partnership with other law enforcement agencies such as British Transport Police and neighbouring forces to detect and disrupt those involved in knife and drug offences. This latest arrest forms part of ongoing initiative aimed at reducing knife crime and associated offences
