Robbery at Spondon Shop: Police Appeal for Information

Detectives investigating a robbery at a shop in Spondon are appealing for footage of a man who was seen in the area shortly before the incident.

At around 9pm yesterday evening (Saturday 27 July) a man entered the Costcutter store in Dale Road and threatened staff whilst demanding money from the till.

He made off with a quantity of cash, vapes, and some mobile phones down the alleyway opposite the shop.

The man is described as 5ft 11ins tall, white, and of slim build. He is believed to have been aged 25 or younger and was wearing a green hoodie, with a white baseball cap underneath, blue jeans and black trainers. His face was covered.

It is understood that a man fitting this description was seen outside the shop shortly before the robbery.

We have released an image showing a man Detectives would like to speak to about the incident and are hopeful that someone may be able to identify him via his clothing.

Detectives are also urging anyone who was driving in the area around this time with dash cam installed, or those with private CCTV in the area who haven’t yet been contacted by officers to check their footage in case it may contain something useful to this investigation.
