A Ryanair flight from Dublin to Gran Canaria was forced to divert to Lisbon yesterday afternoon after reports of a violent altercation onboard.

Flight FR7126 was en route to the Canary Islands when crew members decided to land in the Portuguese capital due to disruptive passenger behavior.
“We were scared here. They were very violent.”

“Yes, a lot of alcohol and a lot of drugs too.”

It remains unclear how many individuals were involved or the extent of the injuries sustained. However, emergency services met the aircraft upon arrival, and the disruptive passengers were removed.

After spending 1 hour and 24 minutes on the ground, the flight was cleared to continue to its final destination in Gran Canaria. Ryanair has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

Authorities in Portugal and Ireland may now investigate the circumstances leading up to the diversion, including reports of intoxication and violent behavior.

Passengers onboard have described the ordeal as distressing, with many calling for stricter measures on alcohol and substance use during flights.
