A second woman has been charged after a 91-year-old dementia sufferer in Maidstone was targeted by a fake carer who stole her bank card.

How the Crime Went Down

On Saturday 15 November 2025, police were called to a home near Week Street. Around 11.15am, a stranger turned up claiming to be a care worker. She spoke to a relative and then left with the pensioner’s bank card.

The card was then fraudulently used for several cash withdrawals and purchases, racking up losses over £2,000.

Mum and Daughter Duo Charged

  • Kathleen Perry, 60, from Acorn Place, Maidstone, was arrested the same day. She faces charges of burglary, fraud by false representation, and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order. On 17 November, she was remanded in custody.
  • Her daughter, Siobhan Perry, 43, of Station Road, Maidstone, was later arrested. Charged with six counts of fraud by false representation, she appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 26 November and was also remanded in custody.

Next Steps in Court

Both women will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 15 December to face the charges. Police continue to urge vigilance, especially when dealing with supposed care workers visiting vulnerable people.
