Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a flat fire on Queensbridge Road in Hackney – UKNIP

Part of a three-roomed flat on the first floor of the building was damaged by fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from the flat who was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. The Brigade was called at 9.39pm and the fire was under control by 10.50pm. Fire crews from Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, Islington, Homerton and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
