A major fire has broken out in railway arches near Roxeth Green Avenue in South Harrow, prompting a large-scale response from the London Fire Brigade (LFB).

As of 1:18am, 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters have been dispatched to tackle the blaze involving multiple railway arch units, which continues to burn intensely in the early hours of the morning.


Firefighters Battling Through the Night

Fire crews from Harrow, Wembley, Stanmore, Ruislip and surrounding stations were mobilised after the Brigade received over 40 emergency calls about the incident.

Two 32-metre turntable ladders and a specialist drone unit are also on scene. A hazardous materials (HAZMAT) team has been deployed following reports of cylinders involved, which may pose an explosion risk.

 

“Firefighters are working hard to bring the fire under control, but are likely to be on scene for several hours,” said a London Fire Brigade spokesperson.

Cause Under Investigation

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and fire investigators are expected to begin their work once the incident is under control.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
