Southend Fire: Three Terraced Bungalows Severely Damaged in Blaze

Default Heading H1

Multiple fire crews rushed to Milton Close in Southend today after a blaze tore through three terraced bungalows, leaving residents homeless.

The alarm was raised earlier this afternoon when flames were reported spreading rapidly through connected properties on Milton Close, Southend.

Firefighters from Rochford, Corringham, Orsett, Hawkwell, Leigh, and Rayleigh Weir responded to the emergency. Crews were able to contain and bring the fire under control, but not before significant damage was done to the homes.

Incident Commander: “Fire had already spread into the roof”

Incident Commander Steve Osborn, speaking from the scene, said:

“When crews arrived the fire was well developed and was spreading into the roof space of the bungalow. Firefighters worked hard to stop it from spreading further.”

“Unfortunately, residents of the affected properties have been made homeless. We will be carrying out a full fire investigation into the cause when it is safe to do so.”
