Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Reading – UKNIP

 

It happened at around 8pm on Wednesday (28/10), when the victim, a man in his forties, was driving along London Road. Another driver, on the same stretch of road,  threw something at the victim’s vehicle as he drove past, a few moments later when both vehicles had stopped at a red light at the junction of the IDR on London Street near the Vue cinema, the men got out of their vehicles.

The offender then pushed the victim into a planter on the verge of the road. When the victim got back on his feet, the offender then punched him in the face.

The victim sustained injuries to his face including a fractured left eye socket and nose, for which he attended the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment.

The offender is described as a black man in his mid-twenties, around 6ft tall with a large athletic build and short dreadlock hair. He was wearing a plain black t-shirt and was driving a black hatchback car.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Sasha Dowson, based at Reading police station said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have captured something on their dash-cam to please get in touch.
