Three UK Government facilitated flights have departed Israel for the UK and Cyprus, with more expected to follow in the coming hours. These flights are part of the UK’s efforts to assist vulnerable British nationals who wish to leave the region. In addition to the flights, two UK Government Rapid Deployment Teams (RDT) and British Red Cross responders have been deployed to provide support to those in need.
The UK is also working closely with Israeli air controllers and the air industry to maintain commercial air links and explore various transportation options. Although commercial flights are currently limited, a few routes between Israel and Europe, including the UK, remain open.
To ensure the safety and well-being of British nationals in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, the Government has advised them to register their presence with the Foreign Office. By doing so, they will receive the latest updates on departure options and security updates. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) continues to advise against all travel to certain parts of Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and against all but essential travel to other areas.
